Saturday, November 12

Okay, I've been off this blog for about a month... in that time I did go for a couple of short runs, but overall I've more or less taken a breather. The cold, dark weather has not helped.

But I went out yesterday morning, on the heels of finally registering for the upcoming Gobble Gobble Gobble.

Distance: 3+ miles
Time: 27:23 total; 13:40 splits
Course: Two laps around the pond.
Time of Run: 10:00 am
Pace: Moderate.
Memorable song on iPod: Cool Rock Boy, by Juliana Hatfield

How I felt: Very out of shape! I wanted to stop after the first lap but gutted it out for one more. I need to get my distance up (quickly!) in preparation for the Thanksgiving run.

  • I think that it's really important that you're in shape when you decide to run again. I have friends who thought they could just join marathons without preparing for them. It's a really funny image when you see how beat they look after running for only ten minutes. Good luck!

  • I've actually been sidelined since hurting my hip somehow... I've been to my doctor and am trying to recuperate.

  • Somewhat ironic about the "two friends who decided to run a marathon. . ." he wasn't talking about us, was he? That was over ten year ago, though, and I suppose we were in good shape. So, I decided to post a message instead of writing you an e-mail, but it's probably bad blog etiquit how do you spell that word? But isn't blogging all about voyeurism and what could be more voyeuristic than me sending you a personal e-mail on a blog comment? But how do you know when there is a comment? I was so hoping your face would appear on Abe Lincoln's head in your video short of your trip to DC. What a wonderful montage - the lead-up and the execution was hilarious - i loved sonia at the ian Pei fountain under the plaza between the west and east wing - really beautiful. My god, Sonia was stunning in that episode - she just may be your big draw. I think you might have edited out a little bit more of the description of the play . . . I went from wanting to go to the footlight to thinking "I'm so glad I'm not going to the footlight." The Luge was very funny in the latest. Gardener seemed so nervous. Let us know if he lands a job. I am so angry with Bob Costas - why does he have to be such a downer? Anyway, your beard is looking great. I combed mine tonight and it felt soooo goood. good running. I hope you enjoyed the men floating over the air at the olympic closing. I almost called to bemoan the end of the olympics, but there is always that release - thank god we get on with the rest of our lives. All your stuff is looking great, ravi, your main blog is fantastic. go man go - why am I commenting on the running site? the secret site for comments?
